Good for all riders, maybe a little rocky for some.

We planned this trip to Binacrombi for a while but never got anyone to agree on a date, every time we would plan the trip someone would pull out. We started of with 18 riders set for the 10th and 11th of May, but since we were getting some serious downpour in Sydney that week, more then half the group pulled out.

The others, tuffed out the conditions and surprisingly encountered minimal rain in the southern tablelands. The report back was good, so a month and a bit later it was time for us to check this place they call Binacrombi.

This was home base for 2 days. Nice cabins with everything you need.
Since we had some light rain, this made the track extra slippery, for hill climbs.
Me, relaxing on the Zook.
Me again, with Adem.Notice all tracks are marked with signs.
The odd crossing here and there, nothing too deep even after rain.
Alot of nice long, up and downhill loops like this one.
A failed attempt at a very steep hill climb on a KTM. But done on a BMW Dakar Rally bike !
Looking down at a very steep and slippery decline. This is done with lockups left and right.
The BMW cruising through the water.
We found some very dense scrub, and a bike with no passenger !
Cuneyt on the BMW flying up one of the climbs.
Failed attempt by the XR650 at Powder Hill. Fatih waiting for assistance from Umit.

Basically there is two ways to get to Binacrombi. One is through Mittagong, then onto Wombeyan Caves road and Jerrong Rd. The other way to go, and also the best way, especially while towing, is down to Goulburn, then up to through Taralga and Jerrong Rd.

We made the mistake of going through Wombeyan Caves road, at 5am with visibility at 10m and an average speed of 20-30kms/h. Not to mention a trailer with a stuffed up hub.

Notice the two spanners used as washers. We were lucky to make it in once piece.

Fore more infomation on how to get there please visit the official Binacrombi website at http://www.binacrombi.com

A network of hundreds of kilometers of fire trails and bush tracks make this place special. Overall we all enjoyed ourselves and had great fun. Some of the things you should note before heading out there are as follows ;

  1. Don't use the Wombeyan Caves Road route if it's a little wet while towing.
  2. During winter, make sure you bring warm clothing ( it's very COLD)
  3. Take your TOOLS !
  4. Bring your own water
  5. Before riding off, check the map and cover every trail that's at offer.
